The project aims to reduce the impact of severe flooding on vulnerable households through early, forecast-based interventions. The project focuses on reaching 7,733 high-risk households in Banke (Rapti Sonari, Nairanapur) and Kailali (Janaki, Tikapur). Using the Forecast-based Anticipatory Action approach, it links impact-based forecasting with pre-agreed triggers to provide anticipatory multipurpose cash transfers, strengthen early warning systems, and build community resilience. Local governments and communities are supported through capacity building, contingency planning, and simulation exercises (SIMEX) to ensure readiness. The phased implementation of preparedness, readiness, action, and post-shock will ensure timely response and learning.
