Professional Profile: Sunita Raut holds Master’s degrees in Food & Nutrition and Sociology/Anthropology from Tribhuvan University and has over 20 years of experience in food and nutrition security, emergency preparedness, gender equality, and social inclusion. She has worked with major donors and organizations including USAID, EU, DFID, WB, UN WFP, UN FAO, and INGOs, leading program collaboration, capacity development, and policy contributions. Her career includes roles as Local Lead for USAID’s Agriculture Higher Education Project, Nutrition and BCC Specialist with UN FAO in Gorkha, Senior Research Advisor with Iris Group International on menstrual health management, and technical support for school meal programs with University College London. She also spent more than 15 years with the UN World Food Programme, coordinating food security assessments, emergency response, and GESI-focused interventions at district and ministry levels. Skilled in data analysis and proficient in Microsoft Office, she has received specialized training in health data management, food insecurity experience scale, food balance sheet, and food security response analysis.
