Professional Bio: Shyam Khadka is the Service Chief for TCIB (Asia and Pacific) at FAO, based in Rome, with over 40 years of experience in international development. He has held senior roles at IFAD, where he managed loan portfolios and led country programs in India, Bangladesh, and Nepal, focusing on poverty reduction, agricultural development, and women’s empowerment. Shyam also worked with UNOPS, overseeing IFAD and UNDP projects across South and East Asia, and led strategic planning at the Agricultural Development Bank of Nepal. He holds advanced degrees in business administration from the University of the Philippines and Tribhuvan University.
