Professional Profile: Dr. Anil Chandra Neupane is a Senior Agriculture Specialist at SAPPROS Nepal with over two decades of experience in agriculture, food and nutrition security, climate-smart agriculture technology promotion, farmer field schools, seed production, livelihood development, DRR and humanitarian work, socio-economic recovery, and value chain promotion. He holds a Ph.D. in Agriculture from the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, and has extensive experience working with organizations including FAO, ADRA Nepal, CIMMYT International, CARE Nepal, Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation, and World Vision International Nepal.
His expertise includes strategy development, program design, planning, and implementation of climate-smart agriculture technologies and resilient practices, strengthening community-based organizations, promoting locally led climate change adaptation practices, promoting sustainable farming practices, developing market linkages and management, development of strategies, guidelines, and implementation of climate-resilient farmer field schools and training, on-farm demonstration, coordination and liaison with federal and provincial government, social welfare council, and donor agencies. He was further involved in supporting local government in the preparation and implementation of LAPA and LDCRP, and supporting community-based livelihood initiatives. He has led large-scale agriculture and livelihood projects focused on improving food security, climate resilience, and economic opportunities for smallholder farmers and marginalized communities across Nepal.
